Wootoff!/Kidswoot!

    What is a Wootoff?

It is an event Woot.com has every once in a while (approximately once a month) where they deviate from their normal deal of the day sale.  Instead of a single daily deal, the website offers many consecutive deals.  The way it works is that there is a limited quantity of an item for sale.  This quantity is indicated by the yellow bar.  When it gets sold out (indicated by the SOLDOUT text) the next item is placed up for sale.  This continues 24/7 until the Woot.com staff pass out from exhaustion. Well, thats my theory anyways.

Also during the Wootoff, the infamous Bag of Crap rears its head.  The BoC is a grab bag of 3 items for 3 dollars.  These items are anything within Woot.com's inventory.  They have ranged from a bandoleer of carrots to LCD monitors.  Regardless, most of Woot.com's items cost over a USD so you win in the end.  Beware though, it is the most coveted Woot.com item.  So that means everyone will try to get it.  Some take off work and stay up day and night just to get a shot at buying the Bag of Crap.   I have yet to acquire one myself.  I normally just lag out during that time.

How do you know if today is a Wootoff going on?

There are yellow flashing lights on the website.  Also if you receive RSS feeds from Woot.com your feeds will exceed the normal 1 per day with the exception of blog posts.  Also chrome has 2 neat extensions, one of which detect Wootoffs and flash yellow.  Also there is a yellow bar inbetween the flashing yellow lights which will slowly be less yellow until all the yellow is completely gone.

And right now there is a Wootoff! So go head on over to Woot.com & Kids.Woot.com    and buy some cheap electronics and random stuff.
