This year is the year of the Rabbit, supposedly one of the luckiest of all Chinese zodiac animals.

Here are some photos from the New Years eve performance celebration in Chinatown (Philadelphia).  This performance was executed by Harry Leong and the Philadelphia Suns basketball team.  Go Harry!

Step1: Assemble outside restaurant.

Step2: Set up the explosives.

Step3: Light firecrackers.

Step4: Run away!!!

Step5: Because you are standing too close, cover ears and make a disgruntled face.

Step6: Look at what a big mess you just made.

Step7: Step on debris.

Step7: March to next restaurant and go to Step1 until you have done this to all major restaurants in Chinatown.

E Mei Szechuan Style Restaurant

Move on over Han Dynasty, a new challenger appears!  E Mei Szechuan Style Restaurant is having its grand opening right now as I type.  I can still hear the drums and cymbals as a local martial arts school performs a traditional lion dance ceremony in front of the restaurant for good luck.    I can see why the place has not opened until now, its Chinese New Years (eve) tonight.  So I guess they really want to cash in on the luck and prosperity.

In any case Sun Leen Fai Lok (Happy New Years - in Cantonese)!  Enjoy the year of the rabbit everyone!
